Method of extraction – Cold pressed, refined.

Aroma – Mild, almost odourless.

Country of Origin – Israel

Attributes – Jojoba Oil (pronounced ho-ho-ba) is a lovely massage and skin care oil that is actually a liquid plant wax, Jojoba is very close to the skin’s own natural sebum, making it very well absorbed.

It is rich in nutrients such as Vitamin E and B, antioxidants and essential fatty acids that work together to help repair damaged skin cells, fight premature ageing and provide long lasting moisture and hydration for the skin

It penetrates the skin rapidly leaving a soft non-sticky feel. It is especially protective and is therefore useful for anyone who works outdoors or is exposed to pollution. It is also nice as an ingredient of baby care products and is a lovely addition to cleansers, due to its natural emulsifying properties.

Jojoba is wonderful to use as a conditioner as it nourishes and protects dry and treated hair, but washes out well and does not leave the hair greasy or lank.

Sweet Almond Oil (Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis)

Botanical Name – Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis

Aroma – Delicate, sweet and slightly nutty

Country of Origin – Spain

Attributes – Sweet Almond oil is excellent for massage. It is an excellent emollient (softening and soothing to the skin) and also helps the skin to balance its loss and absorption of moisture.

Rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids, Sweet Almond oil also makes a nutritious moisturiser for all skin types, and makes a wonderful make-up remover.

Sweet almond oil also contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 with small amounts of Vitamin E and D. Due to the presence of Vitamin E the oil has antioxidant capability. Antioxidants protect vital cell structures by neutralizing free radicals.

Topical vitamin E has shown to have a wide variety of skin benefits. Many studies have shown that it can help decrease the effects of psoriasis, erythema, and may help in reducing the risk of skin cancer. Vitamin E also helps in the reduction of scaring from wounds and on the appearance of stretch marks on the skin.

It has a light to medium consistency which does not leave the skin feeling oily or sticky, making it ideal as an all-purpose base oil. Suitable for all skin types, Almond Oil is light an easily absorbed into the skin, making it fantastic for soothing dry, chapped and irritated skin.

Botanical Name – Cocos Nucifera

Aroma – Odourless, this oil has been deodorised for those who do not want the distinctive coconut smell.

Method of extraction – Cold pressed, refined.

Country of Origin – Malaysia

Attributes – Coconut oil can be used directly for massage. It is great for softening, nourishing the skin and locking in moisture and is known as one of nature’s best remedies for treating dry, flaking skin leaving it to feel silky smooth.

It gives a lovely consistency in balms and creams for the face or body and is also great in hair care. Those with dry hair or split ends can massage it directly into the hair as conditioning treatment, leave for an hour or overnight if possible, then wash out.
