Pure Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant kills microbes by chemically altering certain amino acids that contain sulphur. The amino acids are important building blocks in the proteins that help to form cell walls. When these proteins are destroyed, the cell wall ruptures and the organism dies. In the chemical reaction, Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant takes on an electron from the amino acid and reverts back to a chlorite ion. The amino acid gives up an electron, and giving up an electron is what chemists call oxidation.

Pure Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant is safe to use around children.  Use to disinfect children’s toys, playpens, playhouses, diaper changing tables, strollers, cribs, child car seats, play tables, etc…

Eliminating bacteria, viruses and fungus can involve strong chemicals that can trigger health problems, but our Pure Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant controls mold and bacteria by oxidizing it instead of bleaching it.  It is so mild, you can wash your hands in it but it is tough on bacteria, viruses, fungus thereby providing a safer living environment.

Some Useful Tips To Remove Odours

Odours from Home / Office Air Conditioning System

Fungal spores and bacteria thrive in moist surfaces and when released into the air, these micro-organisms trigger allergies, cause illnesses and produce odours.
Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant is highly effective in eliminating bacterial and fungal organisms found in air conditioners.  It is easy, simply follow these steps:

  • Switch off electrical supply to air-con at main socket
  • Remove air-con filter and wash away dust and dirt
  • Spray Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant directly on cooling fins until wet but avoid spraying at or near electrical circuitry
  • Wipe off excess moisture flowing down the cooling fins
  • Replace cleaned filter into air-con and switch on the air-con

It is recommended to perform the above at least once a month.  During the quarterly servicing of your air-cons, you may hand the Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant to the servicemen for thorough disinfection of all vents, cooling fins and pipes or air ducts of the air-con system.

Carpet / Curtain / Fabric Odours

Spray / wet and brush area with Pure Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant.  This includes underneath or behind.  Allow to dry and if odour persists, repeat  the above procedure.  For liquid spills etc, use Pure Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant together with carpet or upholstery shampoo.

Odours On Floors

Squeeze 3-4 squirts of Pure Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant into bucket containing water together with floor cleaning solution.  Mop or wipe as usual and you will be pleasantly surprised with the results.

Pet Odours

Spray Pure Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant directly onto pet bedding or holding cages.  Brush into surface and reapply if necessary.  Pat dry with a cloth or sponge and let air dry.

To control urine and faecal odours, a daily treatment of 4-6 sprays directly onto the spot and brush Pure Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant into the surface.  Pat dry, re-apply and air dry.

Kitchen Odours and As Kitchen Disinfectant

Pure Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant can remove most common kitchen odours, even the foul odours of garbage disposals and drains.  To treat sinks, fill basin 1/4 full with hot water.  Add 1 squirt of Pure Aroma Essence (any scent) together with approximately 100ml of Pure Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant.  Stir and mix well, then release Pure Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant into the drain.  When basin is empty, run cold water down the drain for 30 seconds and then spray Pure Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant into the drain.

To Sanitize Food-Contact Surfaces:

• Mix 9-parts water to 1-part Pure Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant.
• Spray onto surface from a distance of 6-8 inches, wetting thoroughly.
• Let stand for 1 minute (or longer if specified by government sanitary code).
• Allow surface to drain or air dry. Do not rinse or wipe.

To Sanitize Non-Food-Contact, Non-Porous Surfaces:

• Mix 9-parts water to 1-part Pure Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant.
• Spray onto surface from a distance of 6-8 inches, wetting thoroughly.
• Let stand 5 minutes.
• Wipe and allow to air dry. No rinse required.

Odours From Car Air Conditioning Units

Stop the engine and spray 2-3 trigger sprays into each dashboard vent as well as all other vents your vehicle may have.
Start the vehicle engine and turn the fan on high cool.
Spray 10-20 times into the outside fresh air intake vent.  This is located under the cowl at the base of the windshield.
Let vehicle run for 2-3 minutes.  Wipe off any excess moisture coming out of the dashboard vents.  With windows closed, turn your air-con system to Max air or re-circulation.
spray 5-10 times into the air in general, close vehicle doors and let it run for 4-6 minutes.  This should leave your vehicle not only odourless but most importantly free from harmful bacteria.  To enjoy fresh and beautiful scent, you may use our Pure Car Revitalizer together with Pure Range of Aroma Essences.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

No. While Chlorine Dioxide has chlorine in its name, its chemistry is very different from the corrosive chemistry of chlorine bleach.

The primary differences are that Chlorine Dioxide is less caustic, safer, and gentler than bleach and many other antiseptics and antimicrobials, plus it remains effective under organic load.

Further, chlorine bleach produces harmful by-products to the environment, including trihalomethanes (THM) and haloacetic acids (HAAS). Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant breaks down to a simple salt, producing no harmful by-products.

The United Stated Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is currently reviewing the way third parties will be able to carry “green” claims on all disinfectant labels. EPA policy at this point does not allow “green” claims to be placed directly on any disinfectant product’s label.

While Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant is mild on skin, hard surfaces, and fabric, and will certainly qualify for “green status” when the designation is allowed, we cannot advertise this claim until it is permitted by the EPA.

Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant is also a powerful disinfectant able to kill some of the toughest and most resistant forms of bacteria and mold.

The chemical composition of Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant is such that it has a minimal impact on the environment and contains no ozone harming volatile compounds (VOC).

Yes. Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant is an excellent disinfectant to use in homes. Some of the best places to use Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant at home are in musty basements, in bathrooms where mildew has accumulated (or on surfaces to protect against mold and mildew), and in the kitchen to keep food-contact surfaces clean.

Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant has also been tested on carpets and can be used around the house to sanitize carpets.

The quickest way to disinfect a hospital room, an entire basement, or a school gym is by using a fogger or electrostatic sprayer that can create a fine mist to treat objects, walls, floors, and ceilings in a matter of just a few minutes.

Electrostatic sprayers and foggers can dramatically cut the time to disinfect large areas.

Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant is one of the few disinfectants that can be dispersed in this manner because Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant is non-corrosive to treated surfaces and objects.

The easiest way to answer this question is simply, not all disinfectants are created equal. When evaluating and comparing disinfectant products, take a close look at their core ingredients.

Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant uses a unique chemical compound called chlorine dioxide. While other competitors and manufacturers have attempted to copy and produce a form of stabilized chlorine dioxide similar to Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant, our revolutionary formula is simply unequaled.

Chlorine dioxide has been used during Anthrax attacks, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, to purify drinking water, and most recently to kill MRSA in schools and hospitals. Also consider carefully what kind of chemicals you want around your children, employees, patients, students, and close family members.

Most disinfectants and mold removers on the market are extremely toxic, but Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant gives you peace of mind that you are using an effective product that does not come with alarming safety warnings and precautions.

Cleaners are not registered with the EPA and cannot make public health claims on their label such as killing germs or having any antimicrobial action.

As part of the EPA registration process, disinfectant products are put through rigorous testing to prove their efficacy and measure toxicity. The EPA registers three types of disinfectants: Limited, General, and Hospital. All three disinfectants destroy or irreversibly inactivate certain microorganisms on hard, inanimate surfaces and objects. You can determine a “limited,” “general,” or “hospital” disinfectant by the microorganisms listed on the label.

Limited must be supported by efficacy testing against either Salmonella cholerasuis or Staphylococcus aureus. Limited disinfectants are found mostly in household use.

General must be supported by efficacy testing against both Salmonella cholerasuis and Staphylococcus aureus. General disinfectants are used in commercial areas.

Hospital must be supported by AOAC Use Dilution or AOAC Germicidal Spray efficacy testing against Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella cholerasuis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa hides behind biofilm and is difficult to eliminate. Killing this bacterium is required for “Hospital Disinfectant”.

Also, as part of this evaluation process, products are assigned to a toxicity category: The categories range from category 1 (highly toxic) to category 4 (no exposure warnings required on the label). Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant received an EPA category 4 rating for all exposure routes with the exception of mild eye irritation.

A substance, or mixture of substances, intended to reduce the number of microorganisms on inanimate surfaces or in water or air

A food-contact sanitizer, at a minimum, reduces the level of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli by 99.999% on a food contact surface within one minute. A potable water rinse is not allowed after sanitation of a food-contact surface.

A non-food-contact sanitizer, at a minimum, reduces the level of Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae or Enterobacter aerogenes by 99.9% on non-food contact surfaces within 5 minutes.

“No rinse required on food contact surfaces” is a safety rating given by NSF International (previously the National Sanitation Foundation). The NSF testing guidelines are a continuation of the USDA product approval and listing program, including the FDA 21.

Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant is rated “no rise required on food contact surfaces” category D2, meaning Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant is approved for use in commercial or residential kitchens to control bacteria, viruses, and mold without the need to wash/rinse the area with water after Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant is applied.

In some cases, you can clean and disinfect at the same time, but this depends on how dirty the surfaces you are cleaning/disinfecting are—the dirtier the surface the less effective the disinfectant. Disinfectants need to contact the area to disinfect and cannot do this effectively with a barrier of dirt or grime in the way. Once the dirt has been wiped away the disinfectant can get to work.

Under lightly soiled conditions, you can clean and disinfect in the same step with just Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant. (NOTE: EPA requires all disinfectants carry the following label direction: “For heavily soiled areas, a pre-cleaning step is required.”)

No. Pure™ Antimicrobial Concentrate Disinfectant does not contain volatile organic compounds.
